Yesterday, while on a wonderful charity house tour, I saw some really inspirational things. One of them was the existence of a line of lighting by a favorite maker of tabletop items, Juliska. You may recognize them as a maker of whimsical glassware, dishes and serveware, but evidently they also have a line of lamps and light fixtures using the same handblown glass techniques.
The beauty of these pendants is in their delicate use of glass clearly fashioned by hand, yet their avoidance of fussiness with the use of clear, industrial style bulbs. They work wonderfully over a kitchen island by providing a softer, more feminine look without the use of fabric that can be impractical in a kitchen.
Here are a couple examples of the small pendants.
The line also has a collection of striking table lamps. These would be wonderful in a living room, bedroom or office.
While we're on the topic of Juliska, let me just share some of my favorite tabletop pieces - I can't resist!
